"We were sailing, sailing, the wind was on our side......... but then it died. Cabin fever (aaah)". (Kermit et al., Muppet's Treasure Island, c1995).
So, less wind today. Not good for the mileage, or for our progression towards half way. But a bit less bumpy and crashy in the night maybe. Just creeping along the chart in the middle of a whole lot of blue at the moment.
Some corrections - mum has not broken her rib, it is just badly bruised and much better today. Marcus objects to being "victimised" in the role of nocturnal rustler through the hanging snack basket. This objection was noted but not upheld by other crew members when a number of empty cereal bar wrappers fell out of his pocket and were found under his pillow....
Many apologies for the lack of blog on Wednesday and late arrival on Thursday. A combination of human error (me - Jenny) and trouble with our communication links was to blame.
Not much to report really, washing some knickers/pants for everyone took mum and me about 2 hours earlier, we think we might fish tomorrow as the fridge is emptying slowly, we're yet to repeat an evening meal in 12 days - the quality of food has been excellent - and everyone is slightly loosing the plot I think.
Quote highlights to date:
Mum - yes, it's always about that time of night I end up in Marcus' bed
Mum - one can get a bit lobster-ed out
Mum is also having issues with her maths. Halfway has, at various times today, been 200 miles away, less than 100 miles away and already gone! It's actually about 80 miles away.
Dad panicked last night when he thought the rudder was grinding on it's bearings but it turned out to be the gas bottles moving slightly in their locker. Phew.
A huge public thank you to Joe Imich for buying Copa America tickets for us yesterday. You are a legend. We cannot thank you enough. Marcus has pinned the fixtures up on the wall!! Thanks too for Loz for the quiz question - we got Walsall and Accrington.
Wombat and Chris - we hope you're having a brilliant time in Oslo and we miss you!!! x
